View the video
"A First Nation's Cancer Care Journey" is a short documentary that explores the subject of "what is culturally-safe cancer care?".
Community members and healthcare providers from Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation share their experiences of cancer, from diagnosis to end of life.
Their stories explain the importance of community and family involvement, cultural traditions, and receiving care in the community.
By sharing their stories, they hope to improve the cancer care journey, at home and in hospital for other First Nations peoples.
